1ST AUGUST – 14TH AUGUST. 10AM-WHENEVER

Every two years we have a big building festival at the Star and Shadow Cinema on Stepney Bank. The building was set up with one in fact, in April 2006. This time is special because we are on the cusp of signing a new lease, so it seems right to celebrate by doing some choice rennovations to the cinema.

This means both some quite mundane things, but also things that might pop into your head, like “If only the Star and Shadow had a spa and sauna area”. Nothing is too outrageous for at least a discussion. High visibility jackets, hard hats and hobnail boots will be the new seasons fashion for those two weeks. Prizes for whoever can wear theirs the longest.

This festival is about sharing skills, about installing abit of yourself in the S&S inspiration, and about having some tasty food at lunch and maybe dinner time with a film or some sort of cultural interlude in the evening and just having a great time.

The Star and Shadow Cinema is run entirely by volunteers, and this festival is no different!
